SOUL VIRTUES TEST RESULTS MEANING
How to read your seven-score result.
The dynamic result page shows your current profile. This page explains what the percentages, ranking, close scores, and low signals actually mean—and what they do not mean.
Take or retake the testWhat do the Soul Virtues percentages mean?
Each statement uses a five-point agreement response. For direct items, the selected value is kept. For reverse-keyed items, the value is inverted using 6 − response. The keyed responses for each virtue are averaged and mapped from the 1–5 response scale to a 0–100 alignment score.
A neutral response on every prompt for a virtue produces 50%. A higher percentage means your answers more consistently matched the behaviors assigned to that scale; a lower percentage means they matched less consistently.
The percentage is not a population percentile. A score of 78% does not mean you rank above 78% of people. SoulVirtues.com has no normative comparison sample, and the seven scales are not calibrated clinical measures.
How should I combine my first and second virtues?
Your primary virtue is simply the highest of the seven calculated scores. Your secondary virtue is the next highest. Read the first as the clearest pattern in this run and the second as a modifier: it may shape the motive, timing, or social expression of the first.
For example, Determination with Kindness may pursue direction while tracking human impact. Determination with Perseverance separates two jobs: choosing and renewing the direction, then carrying effort across time. These are interpretive combinations within this site's framework, not validated personality types.
What does it mean when two scores are close?
SoulVirtues.com marks the second signal as close when it is no more than four percentage points behind the first. That four-point rule is a product display threshold, not a psychological cutoff. It is a reminder not to force certainty when the answer pattern supports two neighboring readings.
If the entire spread from highest to lowest is two points or less, the result is shown as an Unresolved Signal. In that case, the full spectrum is more honest than manufacturing a winner.
Is an Unresolved Signal the same as a “Vessel” result?
Some other fan quizzes use “Vessel” as an implementation-specific result label. SoulVirtues.com does not use that label. Here, Unresolved Signal has one narrow meaning: the highest and lowest of the seven calculated scores are no more than two points apart.
It is not an accusation that you answered dishonestly, and it is not a failed test. Middle responses can produce it, but so can a genuinely even pattern across all seven groups. Retake only if the first answers did not reflect your usual behavior.
Does a low Soul Virtue score mean a flaw?
No. It means this particular answer set expressed that scale less consistently than the others. A low score does not prove that the quality is absent, that you are morally deficient, or that other people would describe you the same way.
Low signals can still be useful contrast. They may point to context, competing priorities, current stress, or a behavior you use selectively rather than automatically.
Should I retake the Soul Virtues test?
Retake when you rushed, misunderstood the response scale, answered for an unusual week, or noticed that you described an ideal self instead of your usual behavior. Do not repeatedly retake only to obtain a preferred color; that turns the exercise into label selection.
Question order is randomized, but scoring is deterministic: the same answers to the same prompts produce the same seven scores. Different results come from different responses, not hidden random points.
This is not a clinical psychological diagnosis
SoulVirtues.com is a fan-inspired self-reflection experience. Six scales use scenario-based adaptations of public-domain IPIP items, while Determination uses original prompts. The seven Soul Virtues are this project's design groupings, not a validated seven-factor model.
Do not use a result to diagnose mental health, assess another person without their participation, make hiring or relationship decisions, or replace professional advice.
