UNDERTALE / FAN-MADE PREQUEL

A complete fan journey built around the yellow SOUL.

Undertale Yellow follows Clover, a fan-created interpretation of the yellow human, through an original journey before Undertale. Its use of Justice, encounter choices, and route consequences grows from official clues without becoming official canon.

Explore Justice as one of seven signals

Is Undertale Yellow official?

No. Undertale Yellow is a fan-made game by Team Undertale Yellow. It is commonly described as a prequel because its story imagines the journey of an earlier fallen human, but Toby Fox did not publish it as official Undertale canon.

That boundary does not diminish the project. It tells readers which details can be used to interpret Undertale itself: the existence and color of the yellow SOUL come from Undertale, while Clover's name, personality, journey, supporting cast, and route events are fan-created.

What does the yellow SOUL mean?

Undertale's Ball Game text names Justice alongside the yellow color. In battle, the yellow SOUL mode changes the heart into a form that can shoot, turning defense into aimed counteraction during specific encounters.

Undertale Yellow uses both ideas as design foundations: a protagonist associated with the yellow human SOUL and combat built to support ranged action. The fan game can explore what Justice means for Clover, but its conclusions are not missing official definitions.

Does Undertale Yellow explain what happened before Undertale?

It offers one carefully constructed fan answer. Undertale establishes that seven human SOULs are involved in the Barrier's history and shows items and colors connected with earlier humans, but it leaves most of their individual journeys undescribed.

Undertale Yellow builds inside that open space. When a detail appears only in the fan game—such as a character meeting Clover—it should be discussed as Undertale Yellow continuity, not retroactively added to Undertale's confirmed history.

Route expectations and spoilers

Players familiar with Undertale will recognize broad Neutral, Pacifist, and Genocide route language. Conditions, bosses, character arcs, and endings belong to Undertale Yellow and should be checked in project-specific guides rather than assumed from Undertale's route rules.

This page stays spoiler-light. The deeper comparison is thematic: Justice can mean enforcing a judgment, protecting someone, investigating what happened, or accepting a cost. Different routes put pressure on those interpretations without turning a game choice into a real-world personality diagnosis.
