DELTARUNE GUIDE LIBRARY / CHAPTERS 1–5
Follow the current story without mixing mechanics, updates, and theories.
Deltarune is now an active, expanding search topic rather than a single comparison page. This library separates current release facts, future chapter updates, documented SOUL mechanics, and this site’s independent party activities.
Build a seven-role Party MatchCurrent Deltarune status
Chapters 1–5 are available now. The official store describes Deltarune as a linear, chapter-based RPG and says later chapters will be added as free updates. Chapter 6 is officially aiming for a 2027 release; no exact date is confirmed.
Use the official Deltarune website and official Steam listing for availability and release statements.
A spoiler-light map of Chapters 1–5
| Chapter | Access and structure | Mechanic to know | Guide connection |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chapter 1 | Part of the free demo and the paid game. | Establishes party commands, ACT, MERCY, TP, and the default red SOUL. | Party-system foundation |
| Chapter 2 | Completes the current free demo. | Makes recruitment and visible MERCY progress more central; introduces yellow shooting. | Yellow SOUL mode |
| Chapter 3 | Included in the paid release. | Expands chapter-specific battle and minigame formats without replacing the core party system. | Undertale comparison |
| Chapter 4 | Included in the paid release. | Adds green shielding and further connects SOUL behavior with party abilities. | Green SOUL mode |
| Chapter 5 | Free update for owners of the paid game. | Adds purple and orange modes and has received several post-release patches. | Current release guide |
This map describes access and mechanics rather than plot. It gives a returning player enough context to choose a guide without exposing chapter endings, new-character arcs, or hidden-boss solutions.

What this library covers—and what it does not
The library is designed around four durable search needs. Release status answers what is available and what has been officially announced. Mechanic explanation compares SOUL modes, party commands, and systems across released chapters. Relationship guides separate Deltarune from Undertale without pretending the connection is either a simple sequel or completely unrelated. Interactive bridges point to original SoulVirtues games when the concept genuinely fits.
It is not currently a room-by-room walkthrough, item database, boss damage calculator, or 100% checklist. Those formats require a different level of route testing and spoiler detail. If Search Console shows sustained demand for a specific walkthrough subject, that subject should receive its own focused page instead of being compressed into a broad hub.
How to use the library without spoiling your playthrough
Begin with the label attached to each guide. Spoiler-light pages discuss release structure, commands, and broad mechanical differences without summarizing endings. Battle-spoiler pages name encounters only when a boss or route is required to identify a SOUL mode. Current-release pages place optional-boss or patch details below a visible warning.
If you have not finished a chapter, use the hub and party-system guide first. Open the SOUL mode article when you are comfortable seeing which chapters contain special battles. A future walkthrough or hidden-boss page should be treated as a separate, intentionally spoiler-heavy destination rather than something silently embedded in this overview.
Search visitors often land in the middle of a guide cluster. Every article therefore links back to this hub, labels its scope near the top, and provides adjacent pages at the end so a reader can move from a narrow answer to broader context deliberately.
How facts, interpretations, and theories are labeled
Official status comes from Deltarune's website, store listings, announcements, and Toby Fox's newsletter. Documented mechanics are checked against released gameplay and organized community references. Interpretation explains what a mechanic may mean without presenting that reading as game text. Theory remains explicitly speculative and is not used to fill missing release dates, SOUL colors, or character roles.
This distinction matters because Deltarune is unfinished. A detail can be a strong pattern through Chapter 5 and still change when later chapters add context. Pages therefore include verification dates, spoiler labels, and links to the current source rather than freezing one fan explanation into a permanent fact.
From a new chapter clue to a claim: our evidence check
A bright SOUL color, a character's clothing, and a battle ability can appear in the same chapter without meaning the same thing. When a new chapter or patch arrives, we classify each observation before changing a guide. This prevents one visual clue from becoming an official personality claim or a release-date prediction.
| Observation | What it can support | What it cannot establish | Where to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| The heart changes color and its controls change in a released encounter. | A documented SOUL mode with a named movement or action rule. | A permanent trait for Kris or a fixed meaning for every appearance of that color. | Released mode evidence |
| An attack or room uses a color while the heart's controls stay the same. | A visual or attack-color rule in that scene. | A new playable SOUL mode. | Mode versus visual color |
| A patch changes an encounter after a chapter launched. | An updated account of that released version, with the patch named. | That every earlier player saw the same mechanic. | Chapter 5 update record |
| A scene appears to set up a future event. | A labeled theory with evidence and a counterpoint. | A confirmed Chapter 6 plot, character role, or one-color-per-chapter rule. | Chapter 6 theory review |
| The creator gives a development target in a newsletter. | The target as stated at the time of the update. | An exact release date or a guarantee that the target cannot move. | Creator's newsletter |
The newsletter describes Chapter 6 as aiming for 2027; the official site says it is still in development. We keep a forecast distinct from a release announcement.
How Deltarune fits this site
Deltarune is the closest sustained topic beside Undertale because it shares a creator, familiar SOUL control, bullet-dodging defense, ACT and MERCY language, and a strong relationship with player choice. Its party structure also connects naturally with Party Match.
The connection has limits. SoulVirtues.com does not assign official virtue colors to Kris, Susie, Ralsei, or other characters. Its seven-role system is an original entertainment framework, not a missing Deltarune personality chart.
Undertale, Deltarune, and adjacent games
Read the focused Undertale vs. Deltarune comparison, return to the Undertale guide library, or choose another story-rich RPG from the games like Undertale guide.
SoulVirtues.com is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with Toby Fox, UNDERTALE, or DELTARUNE. These pages use original writing and no copied game art, music, screenshots, or extended dialogue.
Deltarune guide questions
Are Chapters 1 and 2 still free?
Yes. The official store continues to offer Chapters 1 and 2 as the free demo. The paid game contains all released chapters, including Chapter 5.
Is Deltarune an Undertale sequel?
The official wording calls it Undertale's parallel story. It shares a creator, familiar faces, terminology, and mechanical ideas, but it establishes its own world and rules. Read the full comparison before assuming one timeline explains both games.
Does every chapter represent one SOUL color?
That is a popular theory, not a confirmed chapter key. Released encounters demonstrate red, yellow, green, purple, and orange modes, but chapter numbering, background palettes, or character clothing are not enough to prove a one-color-per-chapter system.
Can I begin with Chapter 5?
The official store says the linear chapter system can be picked up from anywhere. Starting earlier gives more context for relationships, items, recruits, and recurring mechanics, so “possible” and “best for understanding everything” are different questions.
How often will these guides be updated?
Release trackers are checked when official news or a patch appears. Mechanic pages change only when a released version adds or revises a system. A new verification date should reflect a real source review, not an automatic timestamp change.
