TEST GUIDE / FAQ
Everything you need before you start.
The assessment has 66 statements, five response choices, local session recovery, and no fixed timer. This guide covers controls, privacy, retakes, result sharing, and the practical limits of the experience.
How long does the Soul Virtues test take?
There is no timer and the site does not yet publish a measured average completion time. As a planning estimate, 66 statements at about ten seconds each is eleven minutes. Set aside roughly 10–15 minutes if you want to read without rushing; reflection or interruptions can make it longer.
What keyboard shortcuts can I use?
- Left / Right arrows: move among the five response choices.
- 1–5: jump directly to a response value without submitting it.
- Z or Enter: confirm the selected response.
- X: go to the previous question; on the first question it saves and exits.
Selection and confirmation are separate so an accidental number key does not immediately advance the assessment.
Can I return to the previous question?
Yes. Use the Previous button or press X. The earlier response is restored as the selected choice, and you can confirm a replacement. After all 66 statements, the final reflection screen also offers “Review last answer.”
Can I retake the test?
Yes. “Recalibrate” starts a new assessment and randomizes the statement order. A retake is most informative when the first run was rushed, unusually contextual, or answered as an ideal self. The formula itself does not add random score points.
Are my scores or answers saved?
While a test is in progress, the randomized order, current position, and answers are stored in that browser's local storage so you can resume on the same device. The saved session is removed when you complete or restart the assessment. Individual answers are not uploaded to an answer database.
General analytics services may record page and interface activity as described in the privacy policy. Standard share text and the image QR use the matching language homepage URL, so they do not expose scores in a URL. Older result URLs remain readable for compatibility and contain percentages only.
Why did I get a different result the second time?
The scoring formula is deterministic. Differences come from changed responses—which can reflect context, mood, interpretation, attention, or whether you answered from usual behavior versus desired behavior. Randomized order can change the experience of reading, but identical answers still produce identical scores.
How does the test work on mobile?
Tap any response row, then tap Confirm. All keyboard functions have visible button equivalents, so a hardware keyboard is not required. The assessment is available in English, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.
Before you interpret the result
Answer as you usually act, including imperfect moments. Then use the final reflection prompt to note whether the run captured your usual self, an ideal self, or a context-dependent mix.
If two leading signals feel similar, use the focused comparisons for Determination and Perseverance, Kindness and Patience, or Justice and Integrity.
